Religion of peace - revisited...

Last Friday I posted about the attacks in Afghanistan against the u.n. compound over the burning of the koran by a pastor in Florida.

A visitor named Milz left this comment -
I like the radical thought, however there is a difference. Misguided and uneducated people form most of the people who undertake the uncouthful deeds. There is always a second side of the coin and I think people should take a step back to look on to it.

I thought about that a bit today, and while it is true that the majority of the people in Afghanistan are a bunch of misguided and uneducated savages, that isn't true of all muslim terrorist scumbags.

For example, osama bin laden studied economics and business administration at King Abdulaziz University. Some reports suggest bin Laden earned a degree in civil engineering in 1979.

khalid sheikh mohammed attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and completed a degree in mechanical engineering in 1986.

mohamed atta studied architecture at Cairo University, graduating in 1990, and continued his studies in Hamburg, Germany at the Technical University of Hamburg.

ramzi yousef enrolled at Swansea Institute in Wales where he studied electrical engineering, graduating four years later. He also studied at the Oxford College of Further Education to improve his English.

wail al-shehri graduated from abha teachers college in 1999 and  took a job as an elementary school physical education teacher at the khamis mushait airbase.

abdulaziz al-omari  graduated with honours from high schooland then attained a degree from the imam muhammad ibn saud islamic university.

majed moqed was a law student from the small town of al-nakhil, saudi arabia (west of medina), studying at king fahd university's faculty of administration and economics.

While the guys listed above may not be typical of the terrorist scumbags around the world, they are/were still terrorist scumbags and they are all highly educated. Some of them from prominent families with many of the same opportunities young people in the United States have. Yet the chose to be terrorists. Pick a name from the list above and do a little research, you'll see what I mean.

There are millions and millions of uneducated people all over the planet who never choose a life of terrorism. Most of those people are born with the ability to distinguish the difference between right and wrong, good and evil. It seems that that ability in many muslims is either broken or doesn't exist...
