A new toy today...

I told you yesterday that I went to the shotgun range and shot some trap. I took my youngest with me. She was immediately interested. I didn't think it was a good idea to let her shoot my Mossberg 500 12 ga. since she only weighs about 80 pounds. One of the other guys at the range had a really nice, older auto loader 12ga. and offered to let her try it out. She fired a couple of rounds out of it and did a great job.

I did a little checking last night on youth 20 ga. shotguns. I fell in love with the Mossberg Bantam so we took a little trip to Cabelas today to take a look at them. The guy there was a big help. He noticed that the Bantam was actually too small for her. He suggested the Remington 870 youth 20 ga. She tried it out a couple of times, back and forth with the Mossberg. He threw a Benelli into the comparison. As it turns out, the Remington was just about perfect. The Mossberg was a bit too small and the Benelli was too expensive.

She is itching to try it out. I think we will head to the range next Saturday if the weather is decent.

I'll post a few pictures in a day or two...
