Chevrolet 789

Thanks to Marc Cote for the link. This is a work of art...

From Attuworld

The “789″ represents a styling hybrid of a 1957 , 1958, and 1959 Chevrolet. The front end is designed from ’57, the side styling is from a ’58, and the rear is ’59 Chevrolet styling. The body is fused with a Corvette C6 chassis to create the car represented below.

According the N2AMotors web site, a Chevrolet 789 costs $135,000 turnkey. However, if you supply the Vette the cost is closer to $40,000. This includes a wheel and tire allowance, custom exhaust, and suspension upgrades.

No Honor Among Thieves

The Indiana Supreme Court ruling that T.L. is referring to is talked about in more detail here.

I truly believe that our Founding Fathers would not recognize what our Country has become. They would weep that the revelation of what we have allowed to happen to their dream. We have perverted that dream. We have allowed our government to become everything our Founding Fathers despised.

We have allowed our government to become a ruling class not so different than the England our Founders fought so hard to separate us from.

As this ruling in Indiana shows, we are even expected to offer no resistance when the government violates the most basic of rules, the Fourth Amendment. What will it take for us demand the thieves give back what they have taken from us? What are they going to have to steal from us before we rise up and begin to take our lives and freedoms back? This is the Fourth Amendment -
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Go visit T.L. He is a great Patriot with an exceptional ability to communicate...

By T.L. Davis - TL in Exile

The revelations about the Indiana Supreme Court ruling that essentially says that an officer of the law might enter any building at any time and force to repel the invasion is unlawful only cements the oft-opined sentiments I have made over the past few months. When they outlaw liberty, one has a choice of being a law-abiding slave, or a criminal. Systematically governments of every form have disposed with the rights of the people to better establish the control of the state, theoretically for the good of all, but rarely is that demonstrated.

The basic premise has always been that one's liberty is only limited by the infringement of liberties of others. That one might swing a fist so long as it does not come in contact with another. But, that is never quite enough for the state. There soon arrives on the scene a "sense" of danger to others so that making the fist is a threat, a form of violence in itself. that must be stricken from acceptable behavior. Then, since all action begins with thought, having thoughts of violence must be identified, reported and dealt with. Then, just to preserve the peace, the state will identify those who come from a particular group of individuals who have in the past demonstrated the thoughts that could have led to violence and that group must be identified, revealed and sequestered. This must be done to preserve the peace of the "just" and "righteous."

This is no longer theory. We are in the process of the devolution of society. We are standing midstream in the wave of the anti-liberty process. We are watching the political and social disintegration of that which made America not only great, but exceptional. Once we allowed these concepts to present themselves in our society without being shattered, smashed and roundly rejected we became susceptible to their arguments. Those who felt weak and unable to compete on a level playing field began to tip it, not so much in their direction, but away from those things that made the society strong.

The simplicity of this is amazing. The people we have charged with the protection of our system have no reason to protect it and in fact have every reason to demolish it. A system formed to empower the individual requires individuals to protect it. It was never considered by the founders of this system that the people themselves would become antagonistic to liberty. It would the the equivalent of discovering that birds would rather walk than fly. What they did not account for was the prospect that we could fool ourselves into believing that the pool into which we threw our taxes would become an ocean of largess from which to perpetually draw.

Now, unable to pay off our citizens with that promised largess, the government is seeking the means to lay the blame at the feet of the producers. It was the practice of letting too many people keep too much of their money that led to you not being able to continue to draw cash from them perpetually. In other words, your laziness can no longer be supported by the workers, so the workers must be punished. Recently, Tim Geithner stole the pension funds from the government workers to stave off the consequences of the previous congress from passing a budget. That seems like a horrible thing to do, but it is exactly what they have been doing to the rest of us for years. They stole the funds in the Social Security program to pay for all of the things they wanted and promised that they would "make us whole" too, when we retired. Why do the government workers think they should get a better deal than the rest of us? Because they believe they are special, that the raiders and plunderers are working with them against the rest of us. Well, unlike the old saying, in this case, there is no honor among thieves.

I know it seems like two issues have been addressed in this post, but if you take a look at it, they are the same. The power of the state enables the theft of the treasure. The only difference being what each of you treasure.

White House shuts out Herald scribe

So the whitehouse denies access to a newspaper reporter over an op-ed piece that the paper ran months ago. That sounds about right. This is the kind of stuff you grow to expect when the president acts like a junior high thug. Holding a grudge isn't very presidential, in my personal opinion. The president should have just a little more class than that, but then we aren't talking about a normal president.

We are talking about a guy with no respect for our Country and absolutely no regard for the office he pretends to hold. These kinds of bullshit school yard games should be beneath the leader of the free world.

We shouldn't be surprised by these actions though. 53% of the people in this Country should be ashamed of themselves for electing this thug...

By Hillary Chabot - Boston Herald

The White House Press Office has refused to give the Boston Herald full access to President Obama’s Boston fund-raiser today, in e-mails objecting to the newspaper’s front page placement of a Mitt Romney op-ed, saying pool reporters are chosen based on whether they cover the news “fairly.”

“I tend to consider the degree to which papers have demonstrated to covering the White House regularly and fairly in determining local pool reporters,” White House spokesman Matt Lehrich wrote in response to a Herald request for full access to the presidential visit.

“My point about the op-ed was not that you ran it but that it was the full front page, which excluded any coverage of the visit of a sitting US President to Boston. I think that raises a fair question about whether the paper is unbiased in its coverage of the President’s visits,” Lehrich wrote.

But Lehrich said the Herald wasn’t purposefully barred from the press pool, saying local pool duty by the Boston Globe was arranged earlier with the White House Correspondents Association. And Lehrich insisted the Herald may yet be allowed into Obama events.

“As we have in the past — including the multiple occasions on which the Herald has supplied local pool reporters — we will continue to consider the Herald for local pool duty for future visits,” Lehrich wrote.

Obama is in town today to raise money for his 2012 re-election campaign. His afternoon speech in the South End’s Cyclorama is open to all media, but only a selected pool can attend other aspects of his fund-raiser. Pool reporters must share all their material with other press. The Herald has been bypassed for pool duty during Obama’s last two visits despite asking the White House to be the local pool reporter.

“Newspapers don’t have to be unbiased to get access. You can’t just let only the newspapers you want in,” said Boston University journalism professor Fred Bayles.

Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom defended Romney’s March 8 opinion piece:

“That op-ed was about jobs, which apparently is a sensitive subject for the thin-skinned people around the president. The White House may be able to manipulate pool coverage, but they can’t manipulate the fact that millions of Americans are out of work because of President Obama’s failure to create jobs and get our economy moving,” Fehrnstrom said in a statement yesterday.

The administration has a history of controversial clashes with the press.

The White House was seen to be at war with Fox News early in the administration, with its communications director calling Fox an “arm” of the Republican Party, while the president avoided Fox interviews until his health reform proposal ran into trouble. Since losing control of Congress, Obama has sat down with conservative Fox commentator Bill O’Reilly.

Santorum: McCain Doesn't Understand Interrogation

I think I've said before that I'm no fan of John McCain. It's not that I dislike the guy, but he tends to form opinions, and change opinions, according to the political winds. He is no Republican regardless of the letter after his name. That being said, McCain served this Country Honorably in Vietnam, and he paid a high price for that service. He was a prisoner of war for FIVE YEARS. He suffered torture at the hands of the north vietnamese.

Rick Santorum stepped on his dick with this dumbass comment. McCain may not agree with the United States using enhanced interrogation on the terrorist scumbags, but based on his history, that is understandable.

I agree with Santorum that interrogation led us to bin laden and hopefully, getting bin laden will lead us to lots of other scumbags. But for Santorum to make this comment about McCain is just dumb. He owes John McCain an apology, a big one...

From FoxNews

Likely presidential candidate Rick Santorum on Wednesday said he was trying to discuss U.S. policy and not Sen. John McCain's personal experience when he said a day earlier that the former POW doesn't understand the effectiveness of waterboarding and other tough interrogation techniques.

Santorum referenced McCain, who spent more than five years in a North Vietnamese prison, during a radio interview in which he disagreed with McCain's claims last week that waterboarding Al Qaeda's No. 3 leader, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, did not provide information that led to Usama bin Laden's compound in Pakistan.

"Everything I've read shows that we would not have gotten this information as to who this man was if it had not been gotten information from people who were subject to enhanced interrogation," Santorum told host Hugh Hewitt. "And so this idea that we didn't ask that question while Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was being waterboarded, he (McCain) doesn't understand how enhanced interrogation works."

Shortly afterward, a spokeswoman for McCain said his office would not dignify Santorum's comments with a response. But the remarks drew a stinging retort from former longtime McCain adviser Mark Salter. Salter, who most recently advised McCain during his unsuccessful 2008 presidential campaign, fired back via Facebook.

"Ron Paul may be the wackiest candidate in the GOP field. But for pure, blind stupidity, nobody beats Santorum. In my 20 years in the Senate, I never met a dumber member, which he reminded me of today," Salter wrote.

McCain addressed the interrogation issue last week amid a charged debate on Capitol Hill over how important the enhanced techniques used during the prior administration were in pinpointing bin Laden's location.

McCain said he asked CIA Director Leon Panetta for the facts, and that the hunt for bin Laden did not begin with fresh information from Mohammed. In fact, the name of bin Laden's courier, Abu Ahmed al-Kuwaiti, came from a detainee held in another country.

"Not only did the use of enhanced interrogation techniques on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed not provide us with key leads on bin Laden's courier, Abu Ahmed, it actually produced false and misleading information," McCain said.

But Santorum insisted that waterboarding played a role in compelling Mohammed to eventually provide information.

CDC Warns Public to Prepare for 'Zombie Apocalypse'

When the CDC starts talking about Zombie Apocolypse, it's time to stock up on the 00 Buckshot... and bandoleers.

Seriously, this is a tongue in cheek look at being prepared. Many of the same things you would need when the zombies attack are the same as for a hurricane, earthquake or any other disaster. I hope you don't need buckshot for that, but if you live in an area prone to looting, you might. You can never have too much buckshot anyway.

I refuse to link to a government website, but the article at FoxNews has a link. Go check it out...

By Joshua Rhett Miller - FoxNews

Are you prepared for the impending zombie invasion?

That's the question posed by the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention in a Monday blog posting gruesomely titled, "Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse." And while it's no joke, CDC officials say it's all about emergency preparation.

"There are all kinds of emergencies out there that we can prepare for," the posting reads. "Take a zombie apocalypse for example. That's right, I said z-o-m-b-i-e a-p-o-c-a-l-y-p-s-e. You may laugh now, but when it happens you'll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you'll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency."

The post, written by Assistant Surgeon General Ali Khan, instructs readers how to prepare for "flesh-eating zombies" much like how they appeared in Hollywood hits like "Night of the Living Dead" and video games like Resident Evil. Perhaps surprisingly, the same steps you'd take in preparation for an onslaught of ravenous monsters are similar to those suggested in advance of a hurricane or pandemic.

"First of all, you should have an emergency kit in your house," the posting continues. "This includes things like water, food, and other supplies to get you through the first couple of days before you can locate a zombie-free refugee camp (or in the event of a natural disaster, it will buy you some time until you are able to make your way to an evacuation shelter or utility lines are restored)."

Other items to be stashed in such a kit include medications, duct tape, a battery-powered radio, clothes, copies of important documents and first aid supplies.

"Once you've made your emergency kit, you should sit down with your family and come up with an emergency plan," the posting continues. "This includes where you would go and who you would call if zombies started appearing outside your doorstep. You can also implement this plan if there is a flood, earthquake or other emergency."

The idea behind the campaign stemmed from concerns of radiation fears following the earthquake and tsunami that rocked Japan in March. CDC spokesman Dave Daigle told FoxNews.com that someone had asked CDC officials if zombies would be a concern due to radiation fears in Japan and traffic spiked following that mention.

Senate Dems Lose Vote on Repeal of Tax Breaks for Oil Companies Amid Pain at Pump

Why do democrats keep calling these tax breaks subsidies? Why do they keep neglecting to mention that many other industries in this Country get the same tax breaks? Why do they fail to inform us that they are picking on FIVE oil companies? They aren't demanding that these tax breaks be taken away from ALL oil companies, just the five that they don't like. Why don't they admit that if these tax breaks are taken away the price of gasoline will rise in accordance?

These big five oil companies pay about 40% in taxes, even with the tax breaks they get, billions of dollars. But all the democrats see is the dollar figures, never mind that there are lots of companies that make a bigger profit percentage, just not the dollar amount. The democrats also refuse to mention that out of those profits the oil companies pay for research and development and exploration. It's not like they drill a hole in the ground and oil pops out. They spend huge amounts of money figuring out exactly where the oil is.

And lets also keep in mind that the oil industry employs thousands and thousands of people. Every time obama and his gang of thugs make it harder for oil companies to drill, Americans lose their jobs. The oil industry sufffers every day along the Gulf Coast because obama refuses to allow them to drill.

obama recently said he is going to increase drilling in the Gulf, off of Alaska, and off of California. It's bullshit. It is an election stunt. He has no intention of EVER allowing our Country to become energy independent. Don't fall for it people...

From FoxNews

As expected, Senate Democrats lost a key test vote Tuesday on a bill that would have repealed $20 billion worth of tax subsidies for the nation's five largest oil companies, falling 8 votes short of a win.

The 52-48 vote came as a majority of Americans say in a new Gallup poll that high gas prices are hurting their finances.

Nearly seven in 10 Americans said high gas prices are causing financial hardship for their families. More than half said to compensate, they have made major changes, ranging from shorter trips to cutting back on vacation travel. More than a 1,000 people responded to the poll that has a 4 percent margin of error.

The national average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.94, according to AAA, and Democrats were looking to exploit that high price with Tuesday's vote.

Last week, Democrats grilled oil executives on the tax breaks that they say are not needed and President Obama announced Saturday he was directing his administration to ramp up U.S. oil production by extending leases in the Gulf of Mexico and off Alaska's coast.

Democrats have been touting a new report by the Joint Economic Committee found that eliminating the tax breaks would reduce the deficit by $21 billion over 10 years and encourage alternative energy and energy efficiency.

"This new JEC report makes clear that there are ways to bring down the deficit without harming our economic recovery," said Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., chairman of the committee. "By repealing unnecessary tax breaks to the major integrated oil companies, we can reduce the deficit by more than $20 billion and speed the move to a clean energy economy without impacting prices at the pump."

But Republicans opposed the bill, saying it won't relieve pain at the pump, a conclusion also reached by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who said on the Senate floor Tuesday that "it won't affect gas prices at all."

Reid then went on to say the opposite.

"We have to do something about the exorbitant gas prices, and the best way to start with that is to do something about the five big oil companies getting subsidies they don't need," he said.

What can Newt be thinking?

Day one, right out of the chute, Newt has to start kicking other Republicans in the nuts. Does he think that by alienating a bunch of people he increases his chances at becoming the nominee?

Paul Ryan's plan may not be perfect, but he is willing to do SOMETHING. We didn't get into this entitlement mess over night. It took many years of BOTH PARTIES passing the buck. Politicians are far more worried about their political careers than they are the welfare of our Country. Ryan has shown, with his plan, that he has the future of our Nation in mind. It may not be popular to talk about changing social security and medicare, but is a conversation we need to be having.

Newt has flip-flopped on so many issues, most people have lost count. He has no chance at becoming the Republican candidate. None. He may have the most name recognition out of the current bunch, but that isn't always a good thing. Especially when you are notorious instead of famous...

IMF chief to remain jailed in NYC sex-assault case

They got you, you scumbag. These rich, foreign assholes think they are above the law. This guy is going to find out that he is just about even with it. I hope they lock his ass up and make an example out of him.

How do these people think they can get away with stuff like this? It's a good thing this woman had the presence of mind to report this fast or he may have escaped to a non-extradition country. Sometimes the good guys do win and scumbags are revealed.

This is probably going to fuck up his chances in the French election, don't you think?

By Jennifer Peltz - Associated Press

The head of the International Monetary Fund must remain jailed at least until his next court hearing for attempted rape and other charges, a judge said Monday.

A tired and grim-looking Dominique Strauss-Kahn appeared before the Manhattan judge to face charges of attempted rape, sex abuse, a criminal sex act, unlawful imprisonment and forcible touching. The top count is punishable by five to 25 years in prison.

Strauss-Kahn is accused of attacking a maid who went in to clean his penthouse suite Saturday at a luxury hotel near Times Square. Defense attorney Benjamin Brafman says his client denies any wrongdoing.

The charges stunned the global financial world and upended French presidential politics. A member of France's Socialist party, Strauss-Kahn was widely considered the strongest potential challenger next year to President Nicolas Sarkozy, whose political fortunes have been flagging.

Manhattan prosecutors asked the judge to hold Strauss-Kahn without bail, saying his position as IMF head had taken him out of the country previously and that the IMF leader was wealthy and doesn't live in New York.

"He has almost no incentive to stay in this country and every incentive to leave," Assistant District Attorney John A. McConnell said. "If he went to France, we would have no legal mechanism to guarantee his return to this country."

Defense attorneys had suggested bail be set at $1 million and promised the IMF managing director would remain in New York City.

The 32-year-old maid told authorities that when she entered his spacious, $3,000-a-night suite early Saturday afternoon, she thought it was unoccupied. Instead, Strauss-Kahn emerged from the bathroom naked, chased her down a hallway and pulled her into a bedroom, where he sexually assaulted her, New York Police Department spokesman Paul J. Browne said.

The woman told police she fought him off, but then he dragged her into the bathroom, where he forced her to perform oral sex on him and tried to remove her underwear. The woman was able to break free again, escaped the room and told hotel staff what had happened, authorities said.

Obama's Post-Bin Laden Bounce Disappears In Gallup Poll

Even getting the most wanted man on the planet can't help you much when you are as incompetent as obama. I doubt that most people think he even made the call to smoke bin laden. Based on his track record of voting "present" when it really counted, I'm betting that Pinetta made the decision. If anything went wrong, obama could deny knowledge and pass the buck.

November 2012 can't come soon enough. We need to rid ourselves of this pretender as soon as possible...

By Steven Shepard - NationalJournal

The bump President Obama received after the killing of Osama bin Laden more than two weeks ago in Pakistan has vanished completely, according to the latest Gallup Tracking poll released Monday.

Obama's approval rating is now at 46 percent, equal to his approval rating in the last tracking poll conducted before Obama addressed Americans late on May 1 and informed them of bin Laden's death. Forty-four percent of Americans now disapprove of the job Obama is doing as president.

According to the Gallup poll, Obama's approval rating crested at 52 percent after the bin Laden killing. His disapproval rating never fell lower than 40 percent.

Obama's bounce is smaller in magnitude and shorter in duration than the bumps enjoyed by other presidents over the past 70 years, according to a study by Republican polling firm Public Opinion Strategies. For example, George W. Bush received a 15-point bump after the capture of Saddam Hussein in 2003 -- a bounce that lasted seven weeks.
